Sitting on the stairs at a party in 2012, each with a glass of wine in hand, Sian Chattle and Charlie Powell held a conversation that would change their lives. Friends for many years, they discovered a shared dream: to create a garden where unhappy people could find solace and hope.
The timing was perfect. Charlie had left a stressful career in marketing to retrain as a gardener and Sian, a teacher for thirty years, was looking to change direction. "I wanted to do something to help isolated, vulnerable people and to use my Eco credentials. When Charlie mentioned her idea for a garden something just clicked."
With family experience of mental health needs creating Lindengate was a natural next step.
