  • Garden Volunteer

    If you would like to join a warm and friendly community, meet new friends, support the wellbeing of people and the environment and help us maintain the beautiful 6 acre Lindengate gardens, then get in touch. We have a variety of volunteering opportunities, and would love to hear from you.

    No skills or experience required just a willingness to get involved and have fun.

    Garden volunteering runs Tues-Satudays 10am-1pm.

  • Woodwork and Site Team

    Our woodwork and site team are involved in many aspects of the garden from creating wooden products and outdoor furniture in their fully fitted out workshop to help with major garden projects and running repairs!

    Volunteers need to have some experience of working with tools and equipment. PPE and training provided.

    The Woodwork and Site Team volunteers operate on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturdays from 9am-4pm.

  • Green Volunteens

    Green Volunteens is open to anyone aged between 13-18. It’s a great way to meet new people or complete your Duke of Edinburgh's Award volunteering.

    All activities are nature based and focused on conservation, bushcraft, heritage skills and maintaining the gardens.

    Green Volunteens runs on Saturday mornings from 10am-1pm.

  • Corporate Volunteering Days

    Volunteering Days offer groups of up to 15 people the chance to learn new conservation or gardening skills, relax around our fire pit making bread or even get involved in tree planting and sowing wildflower seeds.

    They are a great way to motivate your employees and demonstrate your organisation’s commitment to creating positive change for people, their wellbeing and the environment.

    We will provide tea, coffee and plenty of biscuits!

  • Garden Buddy

    Would you like to join a friendly team of volunteers helping support other volunteers in the gardens who may be lacking confidence, skills or just need a bit of additional support?

    Lindengate’s Garden Buddies act as peer support volunteers in the gardens. This can be for a fixed 6-8 week period, ongoing role or flexible depending on the day.

    As a Garden Buddy you need to be a people person, with good listening and communication skills.

    No horticulture experience is necessary and safeguarding and mental health awareness training provided.

  • Programme Support Volunteer

    Volunteer and help support people with a variety of mental health challenges or memory loss during one of our programmes either 1:1 or in a group.

    Working alongside the Programmes Team this role includes running activities in the gardens whilst supporting attendees to ensure they are focused, engaged and enabled to get the most out of their time at Lindengate.

    Volunteers should ideally have 1-2 years’ experience of working in the mental health sector or programme delivery and experience of successfully working with adults, volunteers and community groups. Training is provided if you don’t have a mental health background.
