We are very pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Elaine King as a Trustee of Lindengate.

With over 20 years of leadership in the charity and public sector, Elaine is currently Chief Executive at the Chilterns Conservation Board (CCB), a public body established to conserve and protect the Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Previously, Elaine was Chief Executive at Wildlife and Countryside Link – a coalition of 54 environment and animal welfare charities in England – where she led a team of policy, campaigns and communications experts who created a powerful ‘joint voice’ for the sector. Elaine maintains her extensive connections with the charity sector, including in her role as a trustee at Butterfly Conservation.

Elaine has a degree in Applied Biology from Brunel University and a PhD from Bristol University on bovine tuberculosis in badgers and cattle. Before taking six years out of work to bring up her two boys, she was Chief Executive at the Badger Trust, a charity that promotes the conservation and protection of badgers in the UK.

Elaine is passionate about connecting people with the natural world and was invited to join Lindengate’s Board of Trustees in January 2022.
