Description
Striking large, purple blue flowers up to 75cm tall. A nectar-rich favourite of many species of bee, including Buff-tailed and Red-tailed Bumblebees, and Honeybees. It loves the meadow, sunny spots and chalky habitats.
With a stringent, styptic and antiseptic medical properties, Meadow Cranesbill and its close relatives were used to relieve a range of diseases including cholera, diarrhoea and dysentery; to treat nosebleeds, ulcers and haemorrhoids and to staunch bleeding wounds.
