Volunteer roles and vacancies
Lindengate is a vibrant charity based on a 5 acre site in Wendover, Buckinghamshire. Our service uses the healing power of nature to enhance mental wellbeing and reduce social isolation.CWe need more volunteers in a variety of roles to support the people we help.
These roles are mainly outdoors and in outdoor structures. The work involves supporting people with gardening, light construction, conservation, craft and cooking activities which help them to meet their individual wellbeing needs.CAppropriate training will be provided.
We are looking for calm and patient individuals who are able to commit to a regular weekly time slot so that our Gardeners can be reliably and consistently supported. All our volunteer roles are subject to a satisfactory enhanced DBS check.
Do you enjoy Gardening?
We’re looking for volunteers to help maintain the gardens at Lindengate. We need help with maintaining the flower borders, fruit garden and vegetable gardens and also need help with new projects.
If you prefer the heavy stuff – we do have general site maintenance jobs and we’ll also need help with landscaping for our new projects.
Any Crafters out there? Or Artists?
Are you a keen Artist or Crafter and enjoying helping others learn new skills?
We like a bit of art and craft at Lindengate and provide art and craft activities alongside gardening, construction and conservation activities. We do painting, pottery, needlework, knitting, mosaics, general crafting or any other activities our volunteers have the skills and passion for!
Are you a good listener? Do you enjoy helping others?
Have you got a couple of hours each week to spare? We’re looking for volunteers to support our service users (who we call Gardeners).
No formal qualifications are necessary, but if you’ve got any experience of caring for or supporting vulnerable people that would be a bonus. We’re looking for people who are good listeners and can easily empathise with those with mental health needs.
Training will be provided.
Would you like to gain some experience in Communications and Marketing?
We’re looking for help with our Communications & Marketing efforts – could be anything from putting up posters round the local area, delivering leaflets to doing a bit of social media.
As a charity, we don’t have a huge marketing budget, so we need people who are resourceful, social media savvy and enthusiastic!
Can you help us fundraise?
Have you successfully raised money for charity? Would you like to raise money for Lindengate?
We’re looking for help with our fundraising – here are a few ideas on how you could help us:
Are you a good organiser? We’re looking for help organising our Lindengate events, including raffles, stalls etc;
Are you a gardener? You could open your garden to friends and neighbours or have a plant and produce sale or even provide gardening services for a donation;
And if you’re into running or cycling, you could do a sponsored run or cycle?
Do you run a business? Would you be able to sponsor an event or help us in some other way?
Please get in touch if you could spare some time to help.
