
It has been shown that daily contact with nature is linked to better health. Researchers have found that environments rich in wildlife, and increasing people’s contact with them, resulted in:
- Improvements to health through increased physical activity
- Reductions in stress and anxiety.
- Increased positive mood and self-esteem.
- A better and healthier social life.
At Lindengate, we support adults with common mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety and stress through our wellbeing and nature courses. More details below.
New Wellbeing and Nature Course *Starts 7th June 2023*
Learn new skills, meet new people, be outside and improve your wellbeing!
This course explores the 5 Ways to Wellbeing (Connect, Take Notice, Learn, Keep Active and Give) whilst giving people the opportunity to learn conservation and gardening skills, try out heritage crafts or undertake team building activities through bushcraft and fire pit sessions.
This 12 week course is designed for adults aged 18+ who are feeling socially isolated and/or are experiencing mild to moderate depression, low mood, anxiety or stress or are struggling to return to work after a period of sick leave.
Group Size: Maximum 6 people
Session times: 3 hours once a week (Wednesday mornings 9:30-12:30). Course runs from 7th June to 23rd August.
Duration: 12 weeks
Cost: Each session costs £28. Assisted places are available which enables Lindengate to cover the full cost of the course. Please just ask!

Wellbeing Pathways
This programme is designed for people feeling socially isolated and/or are experiencing mild to moderate depression, low mood, anxiety or stress or are struggling to return to work after a period of sick leave. The programme is focused on maintaining wellbeing and preventing serious mental illness and recovery. Through seasonal nature based activities, including conservation, kitchen & formal gardening and nature based crafts and arts, we support anyone to build resilience and maintain positive wellbeing.
We ensure the person’s needs are met during the stages of their development with goal setting and assessments. Benefits include increased skills and confidence. People often choose to move on to our peer supported volunteering programme ‘Through the Gate’.
Group Size: Maximum 6 people
Session times: 3 hours once a week (Wednesday/ Thursday afternoons 1:15-4:15pm)
Duration: 6-12 months/ ongoing
Cost: Each session costs £28 but grants are available to cover this cost. Please just ask!
